Barack Obama, the president of the world super power, The United States, has arrived to The Chatrapati Shivaji Airport of Mumbai. The Presidential plane would have a stop-over at Ramstein in Germany for refuelling, and is scheduled to arrive at Mumbai at 12.50 pm on Saturday. In Mumbai, Mr. Obama would stay at the Taj Hotel, which was attacked by terrorists in November 2008. After a two-day stay in Mumbai, the President will travel to New Delhi on Sunday.

The US will be spending around $200 million per day during The President’s visit to the city. Around 3,000 security personnel including secret service agents, US government officials and journalists would accompany the President. Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already here for the last one week with helicopters, a ship and high-tech security instruments.

Dr. Manmohan Singh, the PM of India, had invited Obama during his visit to the States and the invitation was warmly accepted by him.

Tight security has been placed by the Navy and Air Force along the Mumbai Coastline and within the city. The area from Hotel Taj, where Obama and his wife Michelle would stay, to Shikra helipad in Colaba would be cordoned off completely during the movement of the President.

A whole new dimension to the Indo-US relation is expected to develop during Obama’s visit to India. Obama has often said against outsourcing of American companies to Countries like India in order to save jobs and opportunity for the people of The US. The President is likely to take some important decisions on the outsourcing policies and visa policies. He would also talk about additional markets in India as The US economy largely depends on American exports to countries like India.

Well, we hope for some fruitful output of Obama’s visit to India and we wish for his safe and memorable journey to India.
